Hey There, Cupcake

Think about a cupcake. A little bit of goodness in a nice, neat little package. All you need to satisfy your craving for sweets. How nice that you are saved from cutting off too small a slice of cake and then you have the dilemma of wanting more and not wanting to get a second piece. You are also spared the embarrassment of slicing off a slab of cake that King Kong could eat. Then you are stuck maybe actually eating it or looking wasteful throwing it away. The cupcake is a little bit of sweetness and perfection in a little piece of paper.

Now, you have different kinds of cupcakes. You have the people who make little cupcakes with a little bit of icing. Who are these people and what do they think they are doing? You have to get all you can in one cupcake. You can’t go back and get another cupcake; you will look like a glutton. These people need to learn how to have good time.

Then you have the people who make a small cupcake with lots and lots and lots of icing. While better, this is too sweet for me. What are you supposed to balance out all the over-sweetness with? You need cake. It is called a cupCAKE, not a cupicing. These people need to learn balance.

Then you have the people who make this big overflowing cupcake that has to have the top scraped off the cupcake pan. These are usually the people who put powdered sugar on top of them. Who do they think they are fooling? I know that they do this to trick themselves into thinking that because they are not getting all of the delicious butter cream calories it is better. This is not at all acceptable. These people need to learn to stop and taste the butter cream.

Then you have the people who make a nice full cupcake and have a nice thick layer of icing on top. These are the people whose parties I go to. They understand how much they need of the cake and how much icing needs to be on top to get the most out of your one cupcake; To get the full benefit of this cupcake experience. These are the people that understand what it is all about.

How is your cupcake experience with God? How are you at getting enough of the Word and enough of the relationship? You have to have both. You cannot be head smart and not heart smart.

Are you the cupcake who is a little bit of both? You do not want Him to interfere with your life and your friends, so you just get into the bare minimum so not to mess all that up. Your cupcake is not over flowing with his love and affection. You need to learn how to open yourself up to all that He has to offer. He wants you have lots of both.

Are you the kind of cupcake that is all icing? You love Jesus and the relationship you have with Him, but you never find yourself in His Word? You never allow yourself to learn all that He has for you, all that He has done for you? You need to learn that there is so much more that He has for you. He loves you and He has played that out many ways over the last couple, few thousands of years.

Are you the cupcake that is all cake? Do you read and study and take in all there is in God’s Word, but miss the relationship He has for you? You know it all and can recite all kinds of scripture and yet you fail to meet Him on a personal level. You need to stop and realize what Jesus has for you personally.

Be the perfect cupcake…that is what God wants for you. Know what He has to say to you through His Word and know what He has to say to you through your heart. Have it all with sprinkles on top.
